Good Morning Yellow Jacket's Volleyball Family,
I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. I know it has been a while since we have touched base with you since the pandemic. I wanted to share some information with you about our program moving forward. At this time, we have decided to cancel summer conditioning due to information received from the GHSA and guidance from our Athletic Director. Tryouts will be held July 27th-29th > 3:30 pm-5:30 pm for Varsity/JV, and 5:30 pm-7:30 pm for Middle School Jr Jackets at the Sprayberry gym.
This decision was made before the Board of Education voted to push the school start date back to August 17th.
Teams will be announced shortly after tryouts on July 29th. A mandatory parent meeting will be held on July 30th at Sprayberry 5-7 pm for all new/returning players and parents. Right now, this is where we are, but I am waiting to hear back about more information for the of our season. Our first game date was scheduled for August 11th, which will now be pushed back. Here are some FAQs to help out! 1) Does my child need a physical to participate in tryouts? Only 9th-12th graders need a physical to participate in tryouts. You can find instructions on athletic registration at https://sprayberryathletics.com/…/2018-2019-athletic-regis…/ Even though the instructions are dated for 2018, they apply to this school year as well. Everything is filled out and uploaded through Parentvue. You can start the step-by-step process now and print out the needed forms via Parentvue. If your child is up-to-date on annual checkups, normally your pediatrician should be able to fill out and sign the printed physical evaluation and medical eligibility forms for you without an appt. Please check with your pediatrician.
2) How can my daughter get ready for tryouts? Check out these websites for some local training opportunities https://www.cobbatlanta.com/calendar

JV/Varsity are Mon-Thurs 3:45 pm-6 pm on non-game days. Jr Jackets practice on Tues and Fri 6-8 pm. Practices will begin on the first day of school.
4) How much should I expect to pay? This remains to be determined for 2020-2021. For reference only, last year’s fees were $400 for JV/Varsity and $300 for Jr Jackets. Final fees will be communicated at the parent meeting on July 30th.
